The underage Japanese girl who was impregnated by a Sri Lankan youth is presently in probationary care.

The couple eloped and arrived in Sri Lanka, and were traced by the police at Vaikkala following a complaint lodged by her mother.

Speaking to Hiru News, the girl, aged 16 years and five months into her pregnancy, said her mother too, was having an affair with a Sri Lankan.

She said, “I came willingly with the Sri Lankan boy. I was harassed at home. A Sri Lankan is having an affair with my mother. His name is Costa. He harassed and even abused me several times. I joined my mother and him on several trips, including to Sri Lanka. Once, he abused me. The first time was in Japan. My mother was there at the time. Both were drunk. My mother knew what happened. I cannot go back to Japan. If I go, I will be harassed by my mother and Costa. I want both arrested. I married my Sri Lankan lover willingly. I cannot go back to Japan.”
