The National Research and Building Research Organization has issued yellow level early landslides warnings to areas in Kalutara, Kegalle, Matara and Rathnapura due to the prevailing inclement weather.
Accordingly, the warning was extended to Bulathsinhala Divisional Secretariat in Kalutara District, Ayagama and Kahawatta Divisional Secretariats in Rathnapura District, Kotapola Divisional Secretariat in Matara District and Dehiowita Divisional Secretariat in Kegalle District.
The residents in the areas are advised to be vigilant for the possibility of landslides, slope failures, rock falls, cutting failures and ground subsidence, if the rainfall in the last 24 hours exceeds 75 mm.
