An Indian youth, identified as 25-year-old Bharat Chandradas from Mumbai, Maharashtra, found himself in a perilous situation after falling approximately 100 meters from a safety fence along the Ratnapura Sri Pada road in the Ehelakanuwa area.
Chandradas, who was part of a group traveling to Sri Pada Uda Maluwa, had the unfortunate accident early today (29), prompting swift action from officers of the Maskeliya Police Special Task Force.
Upon receiving alerts from the Sri Pada police post, the specialized task force officers sprang into action, promptly rescuing Chandradas from the cliff's edge. They then provided initial treatment at the scene before transporting him to the Sri Pada treatment unit.
The Nallathanniya police station was notified of the incident, and arrangements have been made to transfer the injured youth, along with the accompanying individuals from India, to Nallathanniya for further medical care.
