The High Commission of India, Colombo, has clarified the recent viral social media posts concerning the purported assumption of control over visa issuance at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Colombo, by Indian companies.

"We have seen reports and comments including in social media regarding Indian companies taking over visa issuance at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Colombo. The companies referred to in these reports are not India based or Indian and are headquartered elsewhere. Any reference to India in this context is unwarranted" says the Spokesperson in response to media queries regarding Indian companies taking over visa issuance at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Colombo

The public is urged to verify information from credible sources and refrain from spreading misinformation that may lead to misunderstanding or confusion.
