Johnston remanded till tomorrow

The Police Financial Crime Investigation Division arrested former minister Johnston Fernando today.

Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that Fernando was remanded till tomorrow after he was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate.

Former minister Johnston Fernando was questioned by FCID for over 5 hours since this morning in connection with allegedly misusing 5 million 275 thousand 316 rupees, by collecting goods from Lak Sathosa outlets without making any payment.

The Senior Accountant of Stock Control at the Lak Sathosa Headquarters had made this complaint to the police.

Having remanded former minister Johnston Fernando, Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya has ordered to produce the former minister before the Kurunegala Magistrate tomorrow.
