The Most Venerable Galagama Sri Aththadassi Anunayake Thera has been appointed as the 21st Chief Prelate of the Siyam Sect of the Asgiri Chapter.
The appointment was made this morning by the members of the Sangha Council of Asgiri Chapter.
The 93-year old Most Venerable Galagama Sri Aththadassi Thera was born on January 11th in 1922 at Asgir Palle Siyapaththuwa area in Matale.
He was ordained in 1936 and the Nayake Thera received higher ordination in 1942.
