Douglas and Sangaree to Support What TNA Rejected.

Local Tamil Political parties are having different opinions over the United States decision to support Sri Lankan government to hold a domestic investigation with regard to the alleged human rights violations in the final phase of the war.

Leaders of PLOT, TELO and EPRLF which met in Colombo yesterday held discussions on this matter for over 4 hours. 

After the discussion, TELO leader Selwam Addaikalanathan said on behalf of the 3 parties that they are against the move to hold a domestic investigation.

The 4^th coalition of the TNA is Ilangai Tami Arasu Kachchi led by R. Sampandan has not participated in the yesterday’s discussions. 

TELO national organizer M.K. Sivagilingam said that they expect to have discussions with Ilangai Tamil Arasu Kachchi Leader R. Sampandan as Sampandan has said earlier that he believed only in an international investigation.

When our news team contacted TULF leader Ananda Sangaree over this matter, he said that a local investigation would be transparent enough for all parties to keep trust on it.

He also said that the TNA has skipped several opportunities in the past which were availed to solve the problems of Tamil in the country.

Meanwhile EPDP Leader Douglas Devananda said Tamils in this country should be protected under the prevailing law.

He further said he wants to support any settlement that would be implemented without disturbing the harmony among communities.
