The Navy states that it will not initiate an investigation against Yoshitha Rajapakse since he has been remanded over a civil case.
Meanwhile, The Prisons Department says that Yoshitha Rajapaksa, who was remanded along with 3 others are detained in a separate cell.
Prisons Commissioner General H N C Danasingha stated that Kaveesha Dissanayaka who was also arrested has been admitted to the Prisons Hospital.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa and 4 others were ordered by Kaduwela’s Magistrate’s Court to be remanded till the 11th February.
Kaduwela Chief Magistrate Dhammika Hemapala gave out this order after the FCID arrested the accused and produced them before Courts.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa was arrested over the use of State Assets for the promotion of the CSN channel and using undeclared funds for the commencement of the channel.
Meanwhile CSN chairman Rohan Weliwita, former CEO Nishantha Ranatunga and 2 other individuals were also arrested in connection with the case.
Special protection is provided to prevent outside individual’s entering the Prison premises.
