Golden Night of Sri Lankan Cinema – HIRU GOLDEN FILM AWARDS concludes on a grand scale; Best Movie “Agey Asa Aga” – Dasun Pathirana and Swarna Mallawarachchi win Best Actor and Actress

The 3rd edition of the International symbol of excellence of Sri Lankan cinema, the ‘Hiru Golden Film Awards 2018’, which rewrote the film awards history in Sri Lanka, concluded on a grand scale at the Sugathadasa Indoor stadium.

The grand event was held with the participation of several Bollywood and local stars.

Hiru Golden Film Awards Ceremony, organized as per a concept envisioned by the Chairman of Asia Broadcasting Corporation Mr. Rayynor Silva for the 3rd time was attended by bollywood superstars such as Saif Ali Khan, Sonaxi Sinha, Siddharth Malhotra, Juhi Chawla,  Govinda,  Shilpa Shettiy and Zareen Khan.

The night was made colourful with several entertainment items while the latest lighting and sound effects were used resembling an international level awards ceremony.

Prasanna Jayakody won the award for the best film Director for the movie “28” while “Age Asa Aga” directed by Ashoka Handagama won the award for best movie.

Dasun Pathirana of “Sayapethi Kusuma” movie won the award for best actor.

Swarna Mallawarachchi won the award for best actress for her role in “Age Asa Aga”.

Uddhika Premarathna was adjudged as the Most Popular Actor while Pooja Umashankar was named the most popular actress.

Mahendra Perera won the award for the best comedy actor.

The Hiru Golden Film Awards Ceremony, came to life in 2014 as per a concept envisioned by the Chairman of Asia Broadcasting Corporation Mr. Rayynor Silva.
