HIRU fm and SUN FM launched on the 1^st of July in 1998, created history in the hearts and minds of many Sri Lankans by setting a new trend in the sphere of radio broadcasting.

Comedy, Humanitarian issues, News and other quality Entertainment were combined to produce programming that caused a revolution in Sri Lankan radio

HIRU FM has received numerous awards in recognition of its excellence and proved to be leaders in creative and innovative broadcasting.

The guidance and direction of the Chairman of Hiru Media Network, Mr. Rayynor Silva, has led to HIRU FM and SUN FM retaining their position as being dominant forces in Sri Lankan radio, setting very high standards.
