Farmers in the Bakamuna area continue their agitation (Video)

Farmers in the Bakamuna area who are currently fasting say that they will start a deadly fast if their fertilizer problem is not resolved.

The Maha Sangha also expressed their support for the farmers' fast which commenced last Sunday.

Meanwhile, farmers in several parts of the country today staged protests demanding fertilizer.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa also joined a farmers' protest organized in Ibbagamuwa, Kurunegala yesterday (29).

Meanwhile the Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage also expressed his views regarding the fertilizer crisis at a ceremony held in Peradeniya today (30).

The Minister said that members of political parties were behind the active protests demanding fertilizer.
