Polonnaruwa, August 5 – Member of Parliament Roshan Ranasinghe has stated that the United National Party (UNP) and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) are beyond redemption and cannot be rebuilt.
Speaking to the media today in Polonnaruwa, Ranasinghe criticized the 2015 Good Governance government for its failure to address corruption, which led to the election of Gotabhaya Rajapaksa as president. He asserted that there is no longer room for corruption and fraud in Sri Lanka and called for the country to be developed under a new program.
Ranatunga also suggested that the Podujana Peramuna should nominate a candidate who has a deep understanding of global issues for the presidential election. He highlighted that it would be advantageous to choose someone who has significantly contributed to the party's development.
Furthermore, Ranasinghe emphasized that he is not motivated by ministerial posts and can independently contest elections from any district in the country.
