Veteran actress Susantha Chandramali passes away

Renowned actress Susantha Chandramali has passed away at the age of 61 while receiving treatment in hospital. She had been battling cancer for some time.

Chandramali was a celebrated figure in Sri Lankan media, contributing to numerous local productions since 1986. She made her film debut in Somaratne Dissanayake's movie Saroja and went on to win the hearts of fans with her work in teledramas and films. 

In addition to her extensive career in entertainment, she was also the beloved mother of popular actress Thisuri Yuvanika. Her passing marks the end of a remarkable era in Sri Lankan cinema and television.
