The Principal of Kingswood College, Kandy has been interdicted for violating money regulations, the Ministry of Education stated.
A statement issued by the Ministry of education stated that an audit carried out, as per the instructions of the Education Secretary, has uncovered that the Principal had collected a sum of Rs. 3,625,000 violating the circular issued by the Ministry.
The inquiry had also revealed that the principal had collected the money from parents enrolling Grade 1 students for the year 2016, while declaring that it was for the construction of a new building in the school.
