Facebook Breakup Results In Suicide – [Photos]

A youth has committed suicide at Kottukachchiya-Sasandayaaya area in Puttalam over heartbreak as a result of Facebook breakup. Hiru news correspondent said the youth had hanged himself.

The 21 year old had started a relationship with a female via Facebook.

The Facebook relationship extended to phone conversations while the two had never met in person.

The girl had then informed the youth that she was proposed to be married which led the youth to commit suicide.

The girl is said to have identified the youth who committed suicide after the police traced the boy’s mobile to the girl.

Marawila Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
