Amarapura and Ramannya Nikaya merged

Adding a new chapter in the history of Buddhism in Sri Lanka the Amarapura Nikaya and the Ramanna Nikaya signed an agreement to merge today.

Therefore, it will be referred to in the future as the “Sri Lanka Amarapura Ramana Sama Giri Sangha Sabhawa”

Most Venerable Mahanayake of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya, Kotugoda Dhammawasa Thera and the Most Venerable Mahanayake of the Sri Lanka Ramanna Nikaya, Napane Pemasiri Thera signed the agreement at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute this afternoon.
