The case filed against former senior DIG Anura Senanayake for concealing information regarding the murder of rugby player Wasim Thajudeen was postponed until May 31 today.
When the case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Manjula Tillekeratne, Senior DIG Anura Senanayake did not appear in court due to illness, the Hiru News court correspondent said.
The judge has ordered that a medical report of the former senior DIG be submitted to court.
Lawyers representing Anura Senanayake have informed the court that his client is being treated for cancer at home.
The Attorney General has filed a case against Wasim Thajudeen under Section 198 of the Penal Code for concealing information and providing false information.
