The body of a woman found in a suitcase in the Dam Street area in Colombo has been brought to Colombo from the Hanwella area, police said.
It was revealed that the luggage had been brought by a person in a private bus from Hanwella to Colombo.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the bag containing the body was found based on information received from the residents of the area.
CCTV footage showed a man carrying a suitcase to the scene.
The police have already commenced investigations into the suspect and the identity of the woman has not been confirmed yet.
