DNA report to be obtained for the remains of 'Keselwatte Dinuka'

Police state that an order has been issued to obtain a DNA report regarding the body of 'Keselwatte Dinuka'.

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that a post mortem will be conducted on the body after obtaining the report.

The body is currently being kept at the Negombo Hospital morgue.

It was revealed at the police media briefing held today that the body of the underworld member Dinuka Keselwatte who is suspected to have died in the state of Dubai has been brought to Sri Lanka under a different name.

Dinuka's mother from Keselwatta, who is the custodian of the body, does not have a child with such a name.

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the body has been brought to the island by SriLankan Airlines and is currently being stored at the SriLankan Airlines warehouse in Katunayake.

The Police Media Spokesman further stated that further action will be taken after a DNA and fingerprint examination is carried out on the order obtained from the Negombo court regarding the body.

He said that the body had been brought to the island in the care of a well known florist in Colombo and according to the existing Kovid 19 rules, the body should be buried or cremated in the Negombo area.

Investigations carried out so far on Keselwatta Dinuka have revealed that he had a close relationship with an underworld member Makandure Madush.

Accordingly, the police suspect that Dinuka of Keselwatta is also involved in drug trafficking.
