Sri Lanka's tourism industry receives over $ 950 million in 15 months

Despite being severely affected by the Covid pandemic, Sri Lanka's tourism industry has received over $ 950 million in the past 15 months, according to the Tourism Development Authority.

Its Chairperson Kimali Fernando stated that out of the 64 projects for which investments have been proposed, 38 projects worth US $ 102 million have been approved and are currently being implemented.

She noted that global investors are interested in the high potential and feasibility of the local tourism sector.
