Retired Supreme Court Judge Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena has been appointed by the Minister of Justice to investigate the incidents of Lohan Ratwatte, the former State Minister for Prison Management & Prisoners' Rehabilitation, visiting the Welikada and Anuradhapura prisons at night, under the influence of alcohol.
Minister of Justice Ali Sabry stated in Parliament yesterday (22) that the CID and the Human Rights Commission are already conducting two independent investigations into the incidents.
