Rohitha Rajapaksa aiming at cricket administration ?

It is reported that the youngest son of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has decided to play cricket during the 50 over inter club cricket tournament.

Rohitha Rajapaksa, a national and sports club level rugby player, represented the Sri Lanka Army team and the Colombo CH&FC Sports Club team.

Cricket sources say that Rohitha Rajapaksa participated in a training match of the Kalutara Town Club Sports Club which was held at the Maggona Surrey Stadium today.

The inter-club limited overs cricket tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Cricket is scheduled to begin on October 27 and is scheduled to conclude before the commencement of the Lanka Premier League.

Kalutara Town Club Sports Club is a second tier cricket club of the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute and will compete in the second division of the 50 over Inter Club Cricket Tournament this year.

Critics say Rohitha Rajapaksa's sudden arrival in cricket could be part of his future plans.

For all executive level posts other than the post of Treasurer of Sri Lanka Cricket, the governing body of Sri Lanka Cricket, an essential qualification is to have played for at least a second tier sports club affiliated to Sri Lanka Cricket or for inter-club cricket.
