Sri Lanka 15 member squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 announced

UPDATE: Sri Lanka Cricket has announced a modification to its 15-member World Cup squad, excluding star player Wanindu Hasaranga. Hasaranga has been omitted from the squad due to his ongoing recovery from injury. In his place, Dushan Hemantha has been included as a replacement.

This decision reflects the team's consideration of Hasaranga's physical condition and the need for him to fully recuperate before returning to international cricket. Sri Lanka's World Cup campaign will proceed with the adjusted squad, and the team will aim to perform at its best in the tournament.

The squad consists of a combination of seasoned players and promising talents who will represent Sri Lanka in this prestigious tournament.

Dasun Shanaka will captain SL while Kusal Mendis is appointed as the Vice Captain.

Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana and Dilshan Madushanka are included subject to fitness (As stated above Wanindu Hasaranga has been replaced)
