Tilak Siyambalapitiya, one of Sri Lanka's leading energy experts, has been appointed as the chairman of the state-owned Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) under the government of newly elected President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
With 40 years of experience in the energy sector across Sri Lanka, South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and East Africa, Siyambalapitiya brings a wealth of knowledge to the role.
He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and previously worked at CEB for a decade, as well as in Saudi Arabia, focusing on power sector planning and policy.
