Traffic congestion blamed on outdated information

The police have attributed the current traffic congestion to outdated traffic information, according to Police Media Spokesperson DIG Nihal Thalduwa.

Speaking at a media briefing today (01), Thalduwa noted that the traffic signal system requires updates based on revised information to improve efficiency.

He stated that the Acting IGP has initiated the necessary updates to address the issue. Until the traffic signal system is corrected, police officers will manage traffic flow manually, he added.

Efforts to resolve the problem are already underway to reduce congestion and improve traffic management.
