Hiru TV was crowned the Most Popular Television Channel at the prestigious 2024 People's Excellency Awards held today (29) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo.
The teledrama Paata Kurullo, aired on Hiru TV, secured the Most Popular Teledrama of the Year award, while Sajitha Anthony, its lead actor, was named the Most Popular Teledrama Actor of the Year.
Hiru News emerged as a double winner, bagging awards for the Most Popular News TikTok Channel and the Most Popular News Channel. Its digital platform, www.hirunews.lk, was honored as the Most Popular News Website.
Hiru Star received the accolade for the Most Popular Reality Program, and Hiru FM was named the Most Popular Radio Channel. Additionally, the radio program Ara & Pasbara won the Most Popular Radio Program of the Year award.
The awards celebrate the network's significant impact on Sri Lanka's media landscape and its continued connection with audiences across multiple platforms.
