Alleged organised crime suspect Gamage Saranga Pradeep, alias “Welle Saranga”, has been arrested in Dubai.
The arrest was reportedly made based on intelligence provided to the Dubai Police by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kamal Ariyawansa, Director of the Central Crime Investigation Bureau, along with officers tracking another organised crime suspect known as “Bus Lalith”.
Gamage Saranga Pradeep is wanted by Sri Lankan law enforcement in connection with several serious offences, including murder.
He is suspected of planning the killing of “Aliwatte Asitha” in Mattakkuliya and faces further allegations regarding a murder committed in Wattala on June 14, 2022.
Arrangements are currently underway, and he is expected to be brought back to Sri Lanka within the coming weeks.
