The Chief Prelate of Asgiri Chapter Most Venerable Galagama Sri Aththadassi Thera says that running betting centers and liquor shops around the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic could never be tolerated.
The Nayake Thera shared these views when a group of members of the foundation to protect Kandyan Heritage led by its president and former NFF MP Nimal Premawansa paid a courtesy call on the Nayake Thera this morning.
Nimal Premawansa said on this occasion removal of betting centers and liquor shops around the Dalada Maligawa was included in President Maithripala Sirisena’s 100 day program, but that promise is not kept as yet.
