Disaster Management Centre warned people in Balangoda and Imbulpe Divisional Secretariat areas of possible cut slope failures and landslides if rain continues.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department yesterday said the rainy condition is expected to grow due to a low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces. There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers, the department said.
