Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) Organization voiced that Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna has become the richest political party in Sri Lanka in the year 2016.
Executive Director of CaFFE, Keerthi Thennakoon stated that according to the financial statements sent to them by six prominent political parties, income of the JVP as at the end of the year 2015 is reported to be around Rupees 7.2 billion.
Meanwhile, income of the United National Party is reported to be around Rupees 4 billion.
Moreover, income of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has been reported to be around Rupees 9.8 million.
