Attorney-at-law Chrishmal Warnasuriya stated that the president dissolving the parliament and declaring a general election is in accordance with the constitution.
In response to an inquiry made by our news team, he stated that the 19th amendment has the provision for the president to take such an alternative.
Meanwhile, attorney-at-law, Lal Wijenayake speaking at a press briefing in Kandy today stated that seeking the public’s will is more important than opposing the decision to dissolve the parliament.
