Strong health measures and speedy response enabled the early diagnosis of a female employee with Covid-19 at the Brandix factory in Minuwangoda, the garment producer says in a statement.
It mentions the support received from the area’s public health inspector and other health officials and assures priority attention for the safety of its employees and their families.
Brandix says the immediate dispatching of the patient to the IDH hospital helped minimize the risk of spreading the virus.
All follow-up action will be taken on the advice of the authorities, including the disinfecting of the factory where she is employed.
Forty co-workers and their family members are under self-quarantine and will be subjected to PCR tests, the Brandix statement adds.
