Fire at Supreme Court: GA Dept's report by next week

Police Media Spokesperson Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana stated that the report by the Government Analyst Department probing the recent fire at the Supreme Court Complex will be released by next week.

Speaking in this regard, DIG Rohana stated that statements were recorded from 57 persons including security officers, cleaning staff and other employees of the Supreme Court.

An Additional Government Analyst and a Senior Assistant Government Analyst visited and inspected the Supreme Court premises as the Criminal Investigation Department was seeking an expert opinion in this regard.

DIG Rohana noted that, following the submission of the report, further information can be revealed into the incident.

A fire broke out at the Supreme Court complex on 15 December, the cause of which is yet to be known.

The Police reported that archives at the Supreme Court, case files nor any documents were damaged from the fire.
