The Department of Agriculture states that the virus that was imported to control 'Sena' caterpillars and sprayed in the Hidogama area in Anuradhapura last Friday was successful.
Anuradhapura Inter-Provincial Deputy Director of Agriculture Amit Wimalaratne said that the process, which was carried out in several areas, had yielded successful results.
Meanwhile, the relevant farm was visted by the Land Minister S.M. Chandrasena yesterday (20).
He said that the virus will be further distributed among farmers in the future.
