Safari driver fined for chasing after 'Sando' in Yala (Video)

The driver of a safari jeep that chased an elephant named Sando who lives in the Yala National Park has been arrested.

The driver had been identified in a video shared on social media recently.

There was a video where the elephant was chasing behind the jeep after the elephant was harrassed by the safari jeep.

Accordingly, the driver of the jeep was arrested on the instructions of the Hambantota Wildlife Zonal Assistant Director and produced before court, our correspondent said.

Subsequently the Tissamaharama Magistrate's Court has imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000 on the suspect driver.
