The controversy over the crown of Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. World pageant had taken a new twist.
Pushpika De Silva who was crowned as Mrs Sri Lanka 2020 at the pageant yesterday and immediately decrowned will be crowned again tomorrow as Mrs Sri Lanka as she is the eligible winner stated the Event Organisers.
Reports state that the crown has been given back to the original winner Pushpika De Silva who was dethroned.
The National Director for the pageant has confirmed that Pushpika De Silva was not divorced as stated on stage last night by Mrs. World Caroline Jurie.
Caroline Juire who was part of the panel of judges had not raised the issue until that moment, according to reports.
Meanwhile, Pushpika De Silva has filed a Police complaint over the incident and told Hiru News that she will reveal all details soon to the media.
She has also posted a statement reiterating that she was not divorced and stated that she is stating it responsibly.
Pushpika De Silva was declared the winner of the Mrs. Sri Lanka contest last night.
It has been reported that there is no documented evidence to support the claims that Pushpika De Silva was divorced.
Therefore, she has now retained the crown that was snatched away from her.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that she has been hospitalised.
