Municipal Councilor Savithri Gunasekera says that the reason behind the confrontation and the agitation at the monthly general meeting of the Maharagama Urban Council was a result of continuous insults and the condescending attitude of the members.

She stated this at a press conference held after the event.

The physical confrontation between Savithri Gunasekara and Nishantha Wimalachandra took place on the 6th of May.

Councilor Savithri Gunasekera called a press conference the day after the clash to explain the facts regarding this incident.

Meanwhile, another group of councilors had convened another press conference yesterday to clarify the allegations made by the Councilor Savithri Gunasekera.
