Former MP Akila Viraj Kariyawasam's father passes away

Father of former Kurunegala District Parliamentarian Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, G.W. Kariyawasam has passed away.

He was treated at a private hospital in Colombo for a short period of time and was 84 years old at the time of his death.

G.W. Kariyawasam, a former Registrar of the North-Western University, is a prominent businessman in the Kuliyapitiya area.

His last rites will be performed at the Weerambuwa Family Cemetery in Kuliyapitiya tomorrow evening, former parliamentarian Akila Viraj Kariyawasam told the Hiru News team.
