It is reported that investigations have been initiated based on the complaints and information received by the police regarding the disappearances of women.
A woman has been reported missing from the Biyagama area in the past few days and an investigation has been launched in this regard.
So far, the identity of the woman found dead in the travelling bag could not be determined, as the body had been decomposed beyond recognition.
However, the postmortem examination of the body has also commenced.
The body of a woman between the ages of 30 and 40 was found in a travelling bag yesterday afternoon (04) by the police, following a tip off from the area that a stench was emanating from the area.
