The Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested a police sergeant and another person in connection with a Kerala cannabis racket in the Puliyankulama area in Vavuniya yesterday (11).
The Police Special Task Force (STF) said that two persons were arrested with 06 kilograms and 05 grams of Kerala cannabis.
It is reported that a police sergeant and another person who were on duty at a police station in the Vavuniya division have been arrested.
The suspects, aged 41 and 53, are to be produced before the Vavuniya Magistrate's Court.
The STF also stated that the stock of Kerala cannabis seized was worth around one million rupees.
Vavuniya Police are conducting further investigations.
