Retired Major General Jagath Alwis, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security has stated that he has not resigned from his post.
He was speaking to the Hirunews team today regarding the rumors that his resignation letter was sent to the President.
Speaking further, the retired Major General said that it is normal for transfers of secretaries to take place after a new minister takes over a ministry.
However, the retired Major General further stated that he has not been informed to resign from the post of Secretary and that the new Minister has the full freedom to appoint a suitable Secretary to the Ministry if he so desires.
