Colombo Magistrates Court has imposed a sentence of 2 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 100,000 on Shashi Weerawansa over the illegal passport case.
Shashi Weerawansa, the wife of former Minister of Industries and the Jathika Nidahas Peramuna leader Wimal Weerawansa has been sentenced to two years in prison.
She was charged with forging documents and preparing a diplomatic passport by presenting false information.
The order was issued by Buddhika Sri Ragala, the presiding magistrate of the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.
