Security forces locate further escapees from Kandakadu

Two hundred and two (202) inmates who were arrested in relation to the conflict between two groups have been remanded until the 17th.

The group was produced before Polonnaruwa Acting Magistrate yesterday.

218 inmates who were taken from Kandakadu Rehabilitation Center to Senapura Rehabilitation Center following the conflict have been brought back to Kandakadu Rehabilitation Center.

That is due to the lack of necessary space and other facilities in the Senapura Rehabilitation Center.

However, 20 inmates escaped while being taken to the center.

The police stated that six of them have been arrested from nearby police stations.

Also, security forces have found four of the 33 inmates who escaped during the clash between two groups of inmates at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Center
