Illegal Ganja farm operator arrested and 3,000 Plants and 25,000 seedlings seized

On the 19th of September, authorities apprehended an individual engaged in the illicit cultivation of ganja (cannabis) on a sizeable scale.

The suspect, a 24-year-old resident of Hambegamuwa, was found to be operating an illegal ganja farm, where he had cultivated a staggering 3,000 mature ganja trees and maintained 25,000 ganja seedlings in an area spanning approximately half an acre.

In response to this discovery, law enforcement officers from the Hambegamuwa Police Department took swift action. All the confiscated cannabis plants, including the seedlings, were systematically destroyed as part of the ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug cultivation in the region.

The suspect will now face legal proceedings for his involvement in this illicit operation.
