The issuance of the National Digital Birth Certificate under the e-Census Program was inaugurated today in the Kalutara District. The program aims to provide a printed certificate with enhanced security features, making it more attractive, accurate, and widely accepted.
The ceremonial launch took place at the Kalutara District Secretariat, presided over by the State Minister for Home Affairs, Ashoka Priyantha.
Addressing the gathering, the State Minister highlighted that, in line with international standards using digital technology, the number assigned to this National Birth Certificate will be converted into the National Identity Card number. Emphasizing its designation as the National Birth Certificate, the State Minister announced that the program to distribute this National Digital Birth Certificate will soon be extended to other districts.
