Retail prices of eggs and chicken have significantly decreased in the market, with an average egg now selling between Rs. 24 - 30.
Market sources report that a kilo of chicken meat is priced between Rs. 650 - 850, while some traders are selling it for Rs. 600. A pack of ten eggs in supermarkets is priced between Rs. 500 - 520.
Producers attribute the price drop to increased egg and chicken production and a decline in demand since January 29.
