The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) has issued a warning that a resurgence in dengue is being observed across several areas due to the prevailing rainfall.
The NDCU has currently identified 11 districts as high-risk areas for dengue transmission.
The latest statistics reveal that 41,324 dengue cases have been reported across the island so far this year, with the total number of recorded deaths standing at 22.
The NDCU added that tests currently show that between 40% and 50% of blood samples collected are confirmed to be positive for the dengue virus.
