Welikada inmate escapes on prison jailor’s motorcycle

The Department of Prisons launched an investigation regarding an incident where an inmate deployed to clean the Welikada Prison holiday resort escaped using a prison jailor's motorcycle.

The person who escaped in this manner is a resident of Nattandiya who received a one-month detention order at the Welikada Prison.

This inmate and two other inmates were deployed to clean the prison holiday resort.

The Department of Prisons mentioned that one inmate escaped in this manner when the jailor went to the office for some work at that time.
