Police have opened fire at a car after its driver allegedly failed to obey police orders to stop at a roadblock in the Nawala area.
Police said the vehicle was being checked following information received regarding the alleged abduction of a young woman.
According to police, the driver ignored orders to stop and continued driving towards the roadblock, prompting officers to fire shots at the vehicle.
The driver subsequently abandoned the car and the young woman who was inside before fleeing the area.
Police confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.
Further investigations are underway to locate and arrest the fleeing driver.
