Court recalls Priyankara Jayaratne case for November 11

Re-calling of the case filed against former Minister Priyankara Jayaratne, alleging that he caused a loss of over Rs. 100,000 to the state by printing Vesak cards during his tenure as the Minister of Civil Aviation, was ordered for the 11th by Colombo High Court Judge Rashantha Godawela today (01).

Witness number 11 for the prosecution in connection with this incident provided testimony in court today (01).

Issuing further directions, the judge ordered the Bribery Commission to take steps to submit all evidence reports provided so far to the court.

Filing the case under two counts, the Bribery Commission accused the defendant of causing a loss of Rs. 128,520 to the state by printing 3,000 Vesak cards while serving as the Minister of Civil Aviation between May 10 and June 06, 2013.
